Holden, Laura

Laura Holden has a background teaching English and English education at the secondary and post-secondary levels. After receiving a BA in English and an MA in English literature from California State University, Fresno, she worked for five years as a high school English and creative writing teacher in Fresno, California and was a consultant with the San Joaquin Valley Writing Project. From 2006-2007, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua, where she worked with teachers of English as a foreign language and designed workshops on resource development and teacher collaboration. Her current interests include the intellectual history of education and the origins and development of the testing and accountability movement in federal education policy.
