Pilot Test Phase

Thanks for helping us to create the best sport parent education experience possible! This page will provide you with some background information before you start the pilot course.

Course Purpose
This developmental course represents a dual effort by the ISYS and the MHSAA to enhance high school and middle school parents' awareness of their role in high school sport. The aim is to educate parents on their role as a sport parent, including some of the latest information learned from research and consultation with parents, coaches and athletes. Parents should leave with a better understanding of how to help their child, their child's team and coaches, and themselves to maximize their enjoyment of "educational athletics."

What is my role?
Your feedback on the "pilot course" will help us to revise and improve the final version of the course before we offer it to Michigan's sport parents.

How long will this take?
Our best guess is that this course will take 45-75 minutes, but we will have a better estimate after the entire test group takes the course.

What can I expect to see?
The course contains videoclips, audio instructions, and interactive exercises. You will progress through the course at your own speed ... Please follow the directions provided. It will help you progress seamlessly throughout the course.

What is ANGEL?
ANGEL is the name of the online course platform that MSU uses for most of its online courses. See the ANGEL Help Page to find out if your computer software will work with our course on ANGEL. On this page you can peform a "BROWSER TEST" to determine what software and settings you are running. Go to ANGEL Help Page now.

How do I get started in the pilot course?

We need your email address with your first and last name. ANGEL will then create a unique username/password for you and send it back to your email address. Be sure to record this information somewhere for future use. You may also change this password yourself, if you wish. Instructions for doing this will be included in the email response from ANGEL.
