The ISYS
has long been known for developing quality coaching education
programs in the state of Michigan. The Institute's role, relative to
coaching education, has shifted to a consultative and development
role. Under the leadership of Drs. Daniel Gould, Larry Lauer, and Bob
Benham, the ISYS provides consultation services with organizations about
developing coaching education programs to maximize coach learning and
application to the playing field.
The Institute
will develop curricula that are based on the specific
contextual demands of the organization's member coaches, athletes, and
administrators. ISYS is also endeavoring to conduct long term
coaching education program evaluations to study the effectiveness of
these programs, and provide feedback to coaching educators on "Best
Practice". The ISYS no longer holds coaching workshops but does
provide instructors and training for other programs.
