2. TESOL/English as a
Second Language requires candidates to document
experience learning a second language in order to gain
an understanding and appreciation of the processes of
learning an additional language. Additionally, the TESOL/ESL
minor must be paired with an academic core endorsement
(an approved major or minor), including: Language Arts,
Social Studies, Integrated Science, Math, English,
Geography, History, or World Languages. To be endorsed
(recommended for certification) in ESL, teacher
candidates must be concurrently endorsed in the approved
paired major or minor, having passed the appropriate
MTTC subject tests in both ESL and the paired subject

3. These
minors may not be combined with TESOL/ESL since they are
not core academic areas.
