The Language & Literacy doctoral option of study crosses both the Learning, Technology, and Culture (LTC) Program in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Special Education (CEPSE) and Curriculum, Teaching,a nd Educational Policy (CTEP) Program in the Teacher Education (TE) Department. Applicants to the L&L Doctoral Option will be considered for admission by the Language & Literacy admissions committee which will work in conjunction with the two departments/programs: CEPSE/LTC and TE/CTEP. Procedures for application to the Language & Literacy doctoral program of study follow:

  • Students who wish to be admitted to the Language & Literacy Doctoral Option within either CEPSE/LTC or TE/CTEP should obtain admission materials for application to the department/program through which they wish to enter.
     

  • Indicate in the appropriate place on these materials that you are applying to the Language & Literacy Doctoral Option.
     

  • Applications for admission will first be read by either the LTC or the CTEP admissions committee for consideration for admission to that program.
     

  • If the applicant is accepted for admission to the program, the application will then be sent to the Language & Literacy Doctoral Option admissions committee composed of literacy faculty from both LTC and CTEP.
     

  • The applicant will either be admitted to the Language & Literacy Doctoral Option or returned to the program for admission to the program only.
