Classrooms, Housing and Location Information
Most program participants will live on the campus of the University of Plymouth, which is within walking distance of stores, restaurants, and banking facilities. In modern adult dormitories, they will have a single room with private bath and a shared kitchen area. Each room includes a local phone and internet access. Pets are not allowed.
Breakfast and lunch service is offered Monday through Friday. Lunch includes a wide selection of entrees, side dishes, fruits, desserts, and beverages.
Our classroom building is equipped with a wireless network and a large public access computer laboratory.
Plymouth is located on the southwestern coast of England in Devon county and adjacent to Cornwall, one of the most beautiful areas of the United Kingdom. Nearby attractions include Stonehenge, Tintangel (King Arthur’s birth place), St. Michales Mount, and Dartmoor National Park.
The following information is provided for participants interested in off campus housing for couples or families:
Plymouth is a small city. The university is in the center of the city, and there are good accommodations available, some within walking distance to the university or near public bus transportation. Here are some housing web sites, which might be useful:

You must contact the rental agencies yourself and make the most informed decision that you can about the location and value of the rental for your circumstances. We would encourage you to seek as much information as you can in order to make a decision as MSU is not in a position to broker off campus housing or make specific recommendations. Be sure to ask about parking a car, if you intend to rent one while in England, proximity to public bus transportation and walking distance to grocery stores and the university. Our programs begin on Sunday evening, June
22 with a reception at the University of Plymouth and end on Friday evening, July
18, with a graduation ceremony and final dinner. Everyone is expected to attend the opening reception and graduation/final dinner. Please plan your booking accordingly. In addition, you should know that Plymouth is a summer holiday destination for Britons and holiday rentals book early. We would encourage you to make inquiries as soon as possible. |
