I graduated in June of 1968 from the Rehabilitation Counseling program. My
undergraduate degree is in Theology. My current
employment, here at MSU is Director of the Office
of Employee Assistance Programs.
Originally, I conceptualized the idea of rehabilitation
as being similar to the concept of redemption--the
idea that one can be assisted to recover from
a trauma, emotional psychological, spiritual,
as well as physical, and that one who has the
calling to do this is indeed blessed with as sense
of significance in life. Over the course of a
very long career now-- 34years to date, my thoughts
have returned to the earliest concept many times,
and I now believe exactly what I believed then.
We, who choose counseling as a career, are called
to it, and so we area able to assist people transform
their lives into all that they can be.
