| The
Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling that
I received from Michigan State gave me the foundation
for several years of practice as a rehabilitation
counselor in a variety of settings. These have included
counseling at private for profit firms, being a
disability management specialist for a large corporation
and then over 10 years spent with Michigan Rehabilitation
Services. I really have enjoyed working with a diverse
group of individuals with disabilities, helping
them to achieve their career goals.
While continuing to work in this position, I
entered the doctoral program in Rehabilitation
Counselor Education and graduated in 1998. I am
using all of these experiences in my present position
as Assistant Professor and Area Chair in Rehabilitation
Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
