WELCOME!

The Office of Rehabilitation and Disability Studies (ORDS) is located on the beautiful campus of Michigan State University within the College of Education in the department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Special Education.

Since 1955, when it was first established, the program has received national recognition for the outstanding professional contributions of many of its 1300 master's and doctoral program graduates.   The mission of the educational component of ORDS is:  "To prepare professionals to work in partnership with individuals who have disabilities and with employer organizations toward individuals and societal goals."

The Office of Rehabilitation and Disability Studies is committed to providing students with a wide range of professional, educational and research opportunities while they are enrolled in graduate studies.   Students benefit from the program's close association with the areas of Counseling Psychology, School and Community Counseling, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Rehabilitation Medicine, and Labor and Industrial relations.  Through REACH, the continuing education and outreach arm of ORDS, students can participate in a wide variety of special learning experiences on topical issues in rehabilitation.  Students also profit from strong ties to the rehabilitation community and service delivery systems, and through its affiliation with national and international professional associations and service institutions .
