• reveals your points of view, professional goals, personal theory(izing) & commitments
• has depth of analysis, force, and spirit that moves beyond obvious or shallow, self-evident claims
• presents curriculum, teaching, and learning in their complexity
• is no more than 10 pages, typed, double_spaced, and proofread
