Dr. Steward is a professor of counseling and director of the M.A. Counseling Program (School and Agency). She received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oklahoma in 1984. She has or is currently serving on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of College Student Development, Career Development Quarterly, the Journal of Multicultural Counseling and Development, in addition to that of The Counseling Psychologist. Her areas of interest in terms of practice and research are multicultural counseling, counseling supervision, counselor education, and the academic persistence and success of racial/ethnic minority students.

Matthew Diemer is an assistant professor who received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Boston College in 2003. He is interested in counselor education and supervision, sociocultural issues in psychology, and career development. His research examines the impact of sociopolitical and cultural forces on adolescents, with a particular focus on the development of critical consciousness. His work also explores career development among diverse populations and constructions of work and educational opportunity among urban adolescents.

Dr. Neil is an assistant professor. He received his Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Michigan State University in 2002. He is interested in research involving the relationship between racial identity development and the formation of personality. In addition, he is interested in counselor education, counselor supervision, assessment, and multicultural training paradigms. Dr. Neil is also a practicing clinician in the community.
