This page contains the best of the best. It is divided into two sections. The first is a comprehensive list of award-winning books. The latter part of the page lists the best sites I have run across in my endless search for children's literacy resources on the Web. |

|
| The Children's Literature Web Guide | The Children's Literature Web Guide is an attempt to gather together and categorize the growing number of Internet resources related to books for Children and Young Adults. Written by David K. Brown, Director, Doucette Library of Teaching Resources. |
| The Book Nook | An excellent site that promotes reading and writing. Kids read books, then post their book reports here. This site is for any teacher that have ever had a student who asked, "Why do I have to write a book report?" The reports serve as a repository of information that kids can access to discover interesting books to read themselves. Divided by grade level and searchable. |
| Busy Teacher's Website K-12 | Big-time information site. Hundreds of links, in a very well-organized format, that point you to sites ranging from archaeology to social studies. Not strictly a literacy site but there's enough information here that something is sure to apply. |
| Detroit Free Press | The best newspaper site on the web. There's a wealth of free information here to help in literacy lessons or to just pass on. This site could definitely get students to start reading the newspaper. |
| PBS K-12 Learning Services | Serves as a front-line resource for PBS member stations, supplying information and support services for the effective use of K-12 educational television and related technology. Provides information about instructional television. |
