[ Graduate Student Funding ]
At the request of Dean Ames, the Institute for Research on Teaching and Learning (IRTL) is expanding its services to include some research support services for doctoral students. Student research support include funding announcements, budget consultation and development, text review, and training in topics related to external funding.
In this section, you will find a database of over 150 graduate research support opportunities. The list is not meant to be comprehensive but will reflect a variety of funding agencies and potential topics of interest to students planning research practicums and dissertations. If you are interested in external funding, it is never too early to begin planning since many programs issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) once or twice a year. Writing a successful proposal takes time and revision.
Lynne Frechen and Marcy Wallace will be available to help you. We have been assisting faculty at MSU obtain external funding for over 14 years. To assist with the new graduate initiatives, Connie Tingson, a doctoral student in the HALE program, has joined our staff. Her areas of interest are mentoring, leadership development, and multicultural affairs.
We look forward to assisting you!
