Adam E. Wyse

Adam E. Wyse is a graduate student in the Measurement and Quantitative Methods program and the John A. Hannah Research fellow at Michigan State University (MSU). Prior to attending MSU, Adam worked as a high school mathematics teacher where he taught algebra and geometry to students of various academic, social, and economic backgrounds. Adam also has experience in statistical programming and has served as a statistical consultant on several projects, while at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Currently, Adam is working on applications of statistical methodologies to explore the interrelationships that exist between family, student, and school characteristics.

Adam’s specific research interests include applying statistical and quantitative methods to large scale datasets, applications of item response theory including testlets and growth modeling, and methods for assessing item bias and model fit. All of Adam’s work looks at how one can use quantitative methods to answer practical questions in the fields of education, sociology, and psychology.
