I
graduated in 1980 from the Rehabilitation Counseling
program at Michigan Sate University. I am also
a certified registered rehabilitation nurse. I
am currently employed as the Executive Director
of CACIL. My degree helped me in achieving my
career goals by allowing me the flexibility to
find the right “rehab niche” that
meets my personal goals.
I believe that employment opportunities for persons
with a master’s degree from this program
are unlimited. The degree really gives you the
ability to carve out a job in many areas. My words
of wisdom? When working with persons with disabilities,
keep the consumer in mind in everything you do.
It is their choice as to what direction to go,
not yours.
