Troy Mariage is an assistant professor of special education. His research interests are in the areas of literacy instruction, sociolinguistic analyses of classroom discourse, the social construction and reconstruction of literacy events, teacher-researcher communities, and systemic reform efforts geared toward maximally serving all students. He recently served as Co-PI to Project PREPARE, a five-year school/university partnership with a K-2 and 3-5 building to better serve all students and examine the impact of collaborative structures on teacher learning and student achievement. He is currently interested in researching the impact and feasibility of providing concurrent academic and social/behavioral support in socially-mediated instruction.
