Carol Sue Englert is a professor of special education. Her research interests include strategy instruction for students at risk for school failure with a specific focus on best practices, and the examination of instructional interactions among teachers and students during literacy activities. Her more recent work involves collaborative research projects to accelerate reading and writing achievement. She has directed a number of technology projects that have been directed at enhancing the reading, writing, and content knowledge of students with disabilities. She has funded over 30 Ph.D. students through her various research projects. She has won a number of teaching and research awards, including the Teacher Scholar Award and Distinguished Faculty Award.
